Sox of course. Played in Boston the longest. 2 of his 3 Cy Youngs. 4 of his 8 All Stars. And of course the 04 World Series.

If he doesn't go in wearing an Expos hat, we should riot

ETA: not being serious. I just want to see the Expos hat.

What about Randy Johnson?

Played 10 years in Seattle, only 6 in Arizona. In Arizona he won the Cy Young award 4 years in a row vs. 1 year in Seattle. He also won a World Series in Arizona.

Is it not the player's choice?

Nope, I always thought they picked them too until Dawson came out and said he wanted a Cubs hat.

Well, now that I'm reading a bit more maybe they can choose Maddux and La Russa went in wearing blank caps. Maybe Cooperstown just really wanted an Expo hat in there somewhere

It used to be until rumors of Tampa Bay contractually requiring Wade Boggs to go in as a Devil Ray came about.

It is most definitely the players choice. La Russa and Maddux chose to go with no logo and that's exactly what happened

From the Hall of Fame site:

quote:

The Museum staff works with each inductee by suggesting an appropriate logo option, or no logo at all,” said Jeff Idelson, President of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. “For those whose most compelling contributions clearly took place with one team, a logo makes sense. For those whose careers were built significantly among multiple teams, not having a team logo is equally acceptable. Regardless of the selection, a Hall of Famer belong to every team for which he played or managed, as well as every fan who followed his career.”

Makes it sound like they will listen to your suggestion if you played for multiple teams. Seems kind of silly they would let you pick a blank hat, but not a specific team.

Another reason to laugh at the absurdity of the baseball hall of fame.

Maybe you have a choice to go in blank or they select your team. Hence why they went blank.

Yea, basically you can chose your own but they can veto if they need to veto.

He played another 2 years in Arizona after his original stint. So 8 instead of 6. It's too bad we didn't let him stay to get 300.

The fact that he currently works for the Red Sox and is always at Red Sox sponsored events these days just adds to this likelihood.
