Would you use a shuttle from MSY to Baton Rouge for $30-35 each way?

I'm not talking a bus, but a privately operated, clean shuttle where the threat of assault or virus contraction is very small. This would be similar to what exists in many other areas of country.

Say a shuttle that is reliable and runs every hour to a few points in town like Perkins/Highland, Mall of LA, and say Perkins/Acadian?

I really hate picking people up at MSY and also driving down there to park. It the price point was say $30-35 each way it would be less than driving and parking at about 5 days not including gas for one person.

Thoughts?

Hell yeah, if I lived there. One of my relatives lives 2 hours from Seattle and they have a daily shuttle to and from the airport that hits all the towns around there.

absolutely would do it.

i take a groome shuttle from Chattanooga to ATL (about 2 hour drive) for $70 round trip when i travel alone. It is worth it if traveling alone but not if the mrs is going too.

Conceptually, at what price would it be worth it to you?

No. it costs $7 in gas each way assuming 20 mpg. I could easily find a friend or family member to drive me at our convenience, and pay them some extra money instead of paying $60+ for a shuttle.

I just learned that. A quote from daytime from City of BR to MSY is $84 for 1 person.

these shuttles can be a good service though if you dont want to inconvenience friends. it also depends how long you will be gone. I understand that the Nola BR route is only 90 min max, but it can sometimes be hard to convince someone to drive 3 hours to pick you up.

the chatt-ATL route is about two hours and i rode this shuttle all the time when i first moved here if it was a lot cheaper to fly out of ATL than chatt.

There really should be a commuter rail between Nola and Baton Rouge.

If it was a last minute type thing that could definitely be an issue. I just don't know if the demand would be there to support such a venture.

You'd have to factor in the cost of the vehicles, driver salaries, insurance, vehicle maintenance, etc. It would need a lot of demand to meet that price point IMO.

I agree. I've used them several times: Columbia, MO to KC, Seattle suburbs to Sea-Tac, and also in Phoenix.

I have my car keyed at MSY and needed to drive and infant to MSY and back to pick up a relative at 11 PM simply because a cost effective alternative didn't exist. (people were flying in for a funeral an unexpected death).
