If they were never going to fire him, then the silence makes perfect sense. Who calls a press conference to announce they're not firing someone they never intended to fire in the first place?

So what you are saying or not saying is they should say nothing if they intend on doing something or nothing?

they are publicly acknowledging they are still evaluating ryan's status.
