Anyone know what might be causing my game to freeze and the sound at that exact moment to blare repeatedly like a horn? Like a "braaap" will freeze on "bbbbbbbbbbbb" until I restart my laptop. Happened during a competitive match sigh. Time to buy a dedicated desktop vs using a work/study laptop?(i7, 8gb RAM, but Intel 5200 (or 5400)).

On steam you can try validating the files. You can do this by:

Right Click on CS:GO in your game library.
Click on Properties.
Go to the Local Files tab.
Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

It does take around 5-15 min depending on your CPU speed.

Your computer all depends on what you do. If your mobile a lot I would get a laptop that can do both. If you stationary I would build a desktop.

Intel 5400 graphics are faster then 5200.

Thanks I'll try this. I just feel bad I "bailed" on a competitive match. And it only took about 1 minute~ could it be that my SSD might be an issue?

I'll try the game tonight to see if anything goes wrong again. Seemed to happen every game starting yesterday. Annoying to do a abrupt shutdown every five minutes 3 times in a row.

You can try updating drivers as well. I know this happened to me too.
