Gamecock fans, have you heard Chavis was interested in USCe and they said no?

I was told by a gamecock friend that your "insiders" are hinting Chavis reached out to USCe and they passed for unknown reasons (he speculated money and age).

He is from South Carolina so that made sense. Just curious if you had heard that. He would be way better at USC with that offense than he would at A&M.

Could be hogwash, just thought it to be interesting.

I've heard this and I'm leaning towards believing it. I don't think Sumlin really even stole Chavis. I think he fell into his lap. Probably made the first call.

So A&M had all the leverage yet Chavis gamed them on the contract?

Interdasting

It really does seem like Chavis was dead set on leaving LSU. I'm wondering whether his reasons were contractual, or if his relationship with the rest of the staff went South.

I don't think there's any soap opera here. I know some of you may want it, but there probably wasn't.

Almost all have said it was a contractual issue.

Some of the comments Chavis has made about coaching with an offense makes me think there's more to it than just contract snags. Those comments are indicative of a guy that wasn't happy with his situation, and not just his contract.

Yes. It is true. We're happy with our Defense that was last in the conference. No room for the guy who coached the #1 D in the conference.. Nothing to see here. "Let's head to the beach with our families, catch some golf, and pick back up in April. Okay men? (Toothsuck)"

If it was posted here, use the search function. If you can't find it, STFU about it.

You retelling a story of something you think you remember from midway through the season and cannot corroborate to say it MAY indicate something is beyond ridiculous.

it was literally one comment

“I’m excited to play with a great offense, and certainly looking forward to helping the defense get better,” Chavis told the Chronicle from the tarmac of Easterwood Airport. “We get that situation done, and certainly you’re looking at a time, in my mind and in my vision, we will compete for championships.”

and that's just the sound bite they chose, it could have been in the middle of a long talk, it doesn't mean it was the first thing he said and his first priority.

and whats he supposed to say about TAM, whats the first thing you think of when theyre mentioned?

he's not the kind of guy that will ever tell anybody. but I can see that with Cameron coming on board the dynamics of the coaching staff changed. les does manage this staff and they have evaluations and so forth. there is some reason why we offered the same money but added contractual language that he couldn't live with. it is quite possible that chavis was unhappy with the cam/les friendship and thought he was being left out because i'm sure that miles was not happy with the '13 D and the beginning of the '14 D. we had a great offense in '13 and if we would have had a better D we would have won the SEC and maybe the natty.

imo, our front 7 has gone to hell and it seems that we can sign all the secondary guys we want but are really struggling recruiting the DL and LB.

Yeah, I believe it.

I (and most fans) aren't really happy with the lack of changes that have taken place this offseason.
