From the tweets

Woman armed herself with knife. When she put knife down, she was picked up and put out. She called police.

Good God. What a bunch of foolishness. Why put yourself in the middle of this, especially in the current state of the NFL?

One more detail: police say the woman said Junior Galette somehow recorded her with his phone. KPD working to obtain recording now.

There is to much money on the line to cut him. At worst it's his first time in trouble with the league. He receives the 6 game suspension and when the saints are 3 in 4 going into week 7 everyone will be greatful Galette will be coming back.

"With Galettes contract having no dead money and a 14 million cap hit at a time the saints are supposedly trying to clean up their image and maturity issues, don't be shocked if Galette's released."

Is that true?

That isn't what over the cap has

he's got a 12.5 million "ROSTER" Bonus that we were talking about converting to save cap dollars, my question is what is the date of the roster bonus. I'm thinking his arse can be cut quickly and we get out from his fricking deal.

From rotoworld contract blurb:
quote:

9/3/2014: Signed a six-year, $45.3 million contract. The deal contains $23 million guaranteed, including a $3.5 million signing bonus and a $12.5 million roster bonus in the second year. Another $6.5 million is available through incentives. Galette is eligible for $100,000 workout bonuses in every year of the deal. 2014: $750,000 (+ $500,000 roster bonus), 2015: $1.25 million (+ $500,000 roster bonus), 2016: $5 million (+ $2.5 million roster bonus), 2017-2019: Under Contract, 2020: Free Agent

From the wording, and the fact that Galette signed the contract with just 2 million in base salaries in the first two years, I believe the roster bonus is guaranteed. Otherwise, there is no way we could hit $23 million guaranteed.

This. D line is the one area of the team where we seem to have real depth and talent so I think he's replaceable and for much less.

It'll also be a quick and easy way to end the disastrous "Junior-as-defensive-captain" kerfuffle
