It should have been tried as a hate crime (though I am against hate crime laws).
I can't think of a more selectively enforced law than hate crimes.

Highlighting the absence of a hate crime charge should be the first priority of the coverage of this trial. However, the new left direction of The Advocate will almost guarantee it will not be mentioned.

IIRC, he gets more time in jail if it isn't a hate crime because he is a habitual offender. That's why the decision was made

likely the trial that called in 300 prospective jurors before Christmas to find 12 and 1 alternate the lawyers could agree on. I was a juror for another case. I was wondering why so many people were called that week when no other sitting jury but ours was in the building.
