everyone (non adults) in the show except minkus and topanga are stupid.
Cory, shawn, eric, angela, jack, rachel, etc. I don't know if I've ever looked at someone and been like "hmm, that's a smart person right there".

Why the hell did they make Eric a moron? He went from being a level headed older brother who was going to go to college to being a complete idiot. I can't think of any other show where a character did a complete 180 like that.

You must not watch a lot of TV. Tons of characters have little traits in their early seasons focused on and piled upon until said traits become the character. Look at Drake (Drake and Josh), Mark (Roseanne) or Joey (Friends) all underwent similar idiot transformation. The character of Ned Flanders is used as the shining example of a single characteristic overtaking it's host like a fungus.... it's referred to as "Flanderization"
