Mesoraco. I've owned both and mes is way more valuable IMO.

Until his body turns to goo by starting 150+ games behind the plate thanks to Ned Yost Jr in Cincinnati

He hit 12 in 402 ABs. That's about 18Hr with 600 ABs

20-24 on SBs in 113 games

He's 2 years younger than Mez too. Catcher is deeper than 2B imo

And steals are getting harder to come by outside of those 1 category SB guys

I think 2B is the deepest it's been in quite a while.

I think it's pretty deep, but in a keeper league assume the top 3-4 are kept. Rendon, altuve, cano? Let's say Baez too.

At catcher, Posey may be the only keeper. And I feel there are Prob 10-11 catchers with 20HR potential. I just think the pickings may be healthier there.

Say Wong paired with MCann or Gattis or even Wieters, yan Gomes, or D'Arnaud

As opposed to Mez & one of the 2B on the wrong side of 30(utley, pedroia, zobrist, kinsler)?

Maybe luck out and grab Kipnis and hope he rebounds. Or Dozier maybe, but he'll be picked quick.

Idk just thinking out loud here

Mez hit noticeably worse in the 2nd half. Im not sure he is who we think he is. Let me see him do it another year.

I know Wong doesnt have a track record either. Im just in love with his leg kick & bat speed.

I still say Arenado and Dozier. Arenado is pretty obvious and Dozier is Kinsler 2.0. Wong could be Dozier one day. Why not take the guy who has already done it?

i still think Dozier is more of a 15HR guy. Kinsler dabbled with 30.

Dozier for instance hit 18 in the 1st half last year, 5 in the 2nd half. I think he's closer to that 2nd half guy

He had some up and down periods, but he seemed to readjust his approach, and I think his overall numbers are pretty repeatable.

Kinsler 2.0 means 2014 Kinsler. I think Dozier is more of a 20 HR guy. I agree that I doubt he ever hits 32 like Kinsler.

There is no other answer other than Arenado IMO

Im putting 20/80 as his benchmark going forward. 3B is very shallow. He's young. This is your best value by far if you ask me

PS- I love Mesoraco, Wong, and BD.. but arenado is the call here

I'm keeping Arenado and eliminating Dozier. I'm going for long-term value, which is why it's come down to Wong v. Mesoraco.

Dozier is 27. I don't get your point.

Mesoraco is a 26 year old catcher. Wong is 24 though, but I don't see how age is a negative for any of them.

Is this an avg league?

If every team in your league keeps 4, I'm guessing Posey is the only catcher that is kept. I'd just wait for the draft to take one

As for dozier vs wong.. If they are both going to hit .240, give me the guy who walks - Dozier. He's still stealing bags and scoring runs despite a shitty average. Not sure if he can blast 20 HR again, but a 2B who can score 100 and steal 20 bases is a nice player to have in place going into next season

Why I like Dozier:

112 runs - 2nd in MLB behind Mike Trout
41 homers in the last two years
23 homers in 2014 - tied for 1st among 2B
71 RBI's - 7th among 2B
21 steals - 5th among 2B
.762 OPS - 7th among 2B
One of five 20-20 players in 2014
2014 BB% at 12.6%
.69 BB/K

Wong's goals would be to make it to that level.

I'm keeping an open mind.

Keeping Arenado is a certaintly. Thin position. Thin air. Highly touted prospect.

I wasn't crazy about Dozier's second half drop off last year and I think Wong has slightly more upside. Not to mention he being on the Cards is a plus. But I'm certainly taking your two votes for Dozier into consideration.

Mesoraco's HR/FB% was ridiculous last year and his BABIP was higher than usual. Not to mention the usual fatigue that comes with catching games and the shittiness of Cincy's lineup. Right now I'm leaning against keeping him.

My main point is that Wong's upside is 2014 Dozier. However, it would not be an egregious decision if you went one way or the other.

So TBM split on Dozier and Wong
VKC is all Dozier
