OT plumbers-- plastic chips in water, shower head and sink aerator

Is this from the hot water dip tube going bad? If so, what does something like this cost to get fixed? Wait until heater goes to shice then replace the whole thing?

Most likely the pvc tube in the water heater. I had that and it was even in the valves for all faucets.

I think the new heaters have better parts. I cannot remember, but think we replaced the heater.

You could try flushing the tank using a garden hose and the faucet at the bottom of the tank. Faucet may be clogged if there is a lot of sediment in the tank, but it's worth a try.

It is the diptube in the water-heater.
