instead of having to copy and paste the message you want to quote? pretty common function on other forums.

If you highlight what you want to quote then hit "quote", it does basically what you're asking. No copy and paste needed.

I know what you're referring to in other forums, but I like this better when not on mobile. It's easier to quote specific parts of a post IMO.

I'm pretty sure it used to be like that here a couple of years ago... a direct quote button at the bottom of every post.
