Twice this year, once in the Ole Miss game, and once in the Bowl game, LSU kicked off, and the ball was allowed to bounce in the opposing team's endzone, finally being blown dead by the official. It appeared to me that in both instances, LSU could have taken possession of the kicked ball in the opponent's endzone, for a touchdown, yet there was no effort made by the LSU (or opposing) players to taken possession of the live ball.
Did anyone else notice either of these? Are the players no longer taught that any ball which is kicked off is live and can be possessed by the kicking team after it has traveled ten yards?
