Can't blame him for trying to move up in the echelons of coaching. You never know your limits until you push them, and now that he knows he'd probably be along for the long-haul. I would be ecstatic if he returned as our Offensive Line coach.

Not sure what makes you think that. None of the 32 teams will try to hire him as an OC, the Bears have been abysmal in that regard since he took over. He'd also be fortunate to get an offer for the OLine coaching position from either of the 31 teams after his debacle with Cutler and the media.

Seeing as our offensive line hasn't been right since he left, and his positive history with the organization, I fail to see how this is not the most likely scenario?

What I have not heard is did he leave on good terms and are he and CSP still on good terms.

You are completely ignoring the relationship history of him and Payton. I think there were butt hurt and i don't think he left the organization on the best of terms with payton. something was different with the way kromer left.
