Maybe they wanted to win. Just a thought.

They played to win in that situation. Which sucks for us

Other than ego, I don't understand the decision from an organizational stand point.
It is always great to win, but sometimes you need to know when to check your pride at the door and take the loss for the betterment of the future.

You don't understand why people that are paid to win as much as possible tried to win?

You win - you always try to win if you're a winner. A few spots in the draft ain't gonna make that much of a difference anyway if the whole TEAM doesn't show up each week. If our D sucks next year, it won't matter if we have one stud we got in the draft. If our offense continues to turn the ball over in key situations, a stud player won't matter that much. If our kicking game has us trying out new kickers late into the season because we have to pray before kicks, one player won't make that much of a difference. Besides, you can get a really good player in different parts of the draft if you scout well.
