He would have never stayed. This guy has wanted to be near his family all along. Switched around all recruiting year, then left ND after one year.

ETA: He's also very inconsistent. One game he'll throw up four TDs perfect then the next few games, he'd be lucky to manage a TD. IMO the system, crappy opponents, and the experienced receivers are why he looks good at times. The dude's top seven pass catchers, are all junior WRs. Last year, 4 of those seven were 4 of the top 5 pass catchers. Their receptions, before this year, were 77, 45, 29, and 16. LSU brought in 2 WRs with a total of 8 receptions this year, and only one played. They had one guy with double that. I only mentioned 4 of their top 5 WRs!

So no, with the youth at WR, bad receiving TEs and more complicated route tree our guys have to learn and have yet to learn, I don't think he does much better. Maybe ok, but if he's throwing 11 ints against crap opponents, what would he do against Bama, Ole Miss, UF, and Arky? Maybe a few extra hundred yards, but definitely more ints.

LSU is a virus to QBs anyway.

what is wrong with you? Mettenberger had a pretty good year last year. As a QB. At LSU.
