Homochitto NF Deer Hunting

Looking at some property near the HNF. Done a lot of Turkey hunting in the Forest, but no deer hunting. How's the deer hunting? Big bucks? Good genes? Thanks!

They have potential to have really good deer from the river all the way east of I-55, seems to get better the further North you go.

This isn't the average, but there are typically a handful of 140"+ deer shot in the NF and surrounding area every year.

I know of a 275lb 159 deer that was shot outside homochitto this year. Not typical for the lease but they are there. The deer has an article on both Mississippi and Louisiana sportsman. Im on the tablet but its recent within a month.

See my comment here. I was in HNF across from private property. Deer was in NF.
