movement is almost non existent in the daytime. Tons of night pictures.

Same here, I hope that means the chase is almost on. I'm hunting 8-noon 2-dark. I haven't had a picture before 9am all season. Hopefully the coming rain has them moving today and in the morning tomorrow

Hammer, have you heard any rut reports around our area? It went stone cold during daylight around my area. I haven't heard a gun shot in the last 5 days I've been here. The bucks have split and are following does all night.

Posted by jdani11 Sam lost an 8 pt opening wknd and the doe he killed ran 100 yds and didnt bleed at all, he hit it perfect right behin the shoulder to with a pass thru? He shoots a 280 also

This is the 3rd deer killed with my .280. One didn't bleed and the other two bled good and only ran 50-75 yards. Shot placement on this one was terrible, entered left shoulder, exited bottom of neck. Did the job though

Sea Pickle I haven't deer hunted in LA this year yet duck hunting has been just too good. They aren't doing much at my deer lease though. I am planning on hunting some this week though.

Well you made the right decision on the birds. I had more deer on camera than I ever have until December rolled around. I hope it makes for a good rut but man its been slow. I'm here until Sunday night and I'll be back Wednesday - Saturday

First bow kill was a year ago to the day. Things around south caddo parish have been slow.
Hope my luck changes today.
Nice deer FT.

Pretty fruitless 3+ hours this morning. My two sons and I still haven't seen even a flash of brown. Been pretty awful season so far. (Carthage, MS)

I'd guess they are completely nocturnal based on camera footage. And STILL chowing on acorns-corn and greenfields all seem untouched. And not enough rain to wash the acorns away or sour them.

They have been in my plots and at my feeders pretty regularly. Though, Mostly at night. About every 2 weeks I'll get a few mid morning pictures but never when I'm in the stand.

We had a record crop of acorns this year. There are still several dozen acorns under every tree. The deer don't have to go far to eat during daylight and at night they are hitting the plots.
