St. Nicholas (270-343 AD) was a Catholic bishop who is most famous for his secret gift-giving as well as punching out the heretic Arias at the Council of Nicaea (325 AD). His remains are located in a cathedral in Italy. After studying his skull as well as doing a lot of other science stuff to it, 3D artists delivered the most accurate rendition possible of what he may have looked like:

So the gift giving stayed but the punching people out had to go? Talk about cherry picking your traditions, jeez.

Surprise sucker punching is the true meaning of Christmas, you guys.

The pussification of America really started in the 18th century.

What would a real Santa outfit be like?

I mean those bright red polyester coats and pants that mall Santa's wear are awful.

I think an authentic outfit for someone who lives in the arctic would be a seal fur jacket and pants lined with authentic polar bear fur, same for the hat. The gloves, boots and belts would be deerskin.

I'd prefer a level playing field. If you accept my present, you have to take the punch that comes with it. Fair is fair.

A very common fallacy. If you read the writings of the early Church Fathers of the 2nd and 3rd centuries, you can clearly see the orthodoxy of the Nicene -Constantinopolitan Creed already established more than 200 years before Nicaea.

The main reason why the Council of Nicaea even took place is because a man named Arias and a large group of followers were teaching that while Jesus was the Son of God, he was not divine.

Yep. It was invented somewhere between 29-33 AD when a man called Jesus of Nazareth was crucified and, three days later, rose from the dead.

Why can't we just have Jesus or God and let him give the presents out? Why do we need santa too?
