But if he jumps to the NFL or takes another college job, Saban will owe LSU nothing. Emmert, a public-policy expert, decided against including a buyout clause when he negotiated Saban's $6 million contract - even though Saban left Michigan State with its football team headed to a major bowl game.

Mark Emmert ladies and gentlemen.

Allowing Saban free reign to do whatever he pleases for over a decade now, first at the university level, now at the NCAA level.

It pays to have friends in high places.

It would be so much more fun to see an LSU vs Bama rivalry play out if one of the coaches didn't have his best friend, who now happens to be in charge of the NCAA, hence compliance issues, in his back pocket allowing him to do whatever he wants to build a dynasty.

Saban Who ?? No one would know who he is

This. Saban's discipline with LSU/Bama talent is a good combo.

I believe LSU is more likely to have won a title then Nicky making a name for himself if he is not plucked out of MSU.

It's Christmas, think positive.

We're playing in the Music City Bowl at 2 p.m on a Tuesday for Christmas and Bama is about to win another National Championship.

All the Tony Robbins sunshine pumping positive energy/mental thinking in the world can't put lipstick on that pig.

You're way more butt-hurt over this than any sane individual should be.

Enjoy your "everyone gets a trophy in soccer these days" so it's all good mentality.

I have higher expectations for LSU than reveling in this mediocrity.

Way to start a thread you knew the responses would be negative too.

Oh, so now the Rant's Top Cop wants folks to start threads where there are nondescript answers only. You are actually answering the question by saying there will only be negative answers. Listen to yourself.

Cadello, you're a dumb prick, dude.

Seriously, go browbeat somewhere where people will actually respect you; Start with an elementary school library. You seem to get off on policing evvvvvery fifth thread, or so. It gets old in a hurry.

I am not sure you understand what this word means. when was the last time LSU was in the 50-60 rank of Div 1 teams?

Not only are you butt-hurt, but you repeatedly regurgitate the same crap over and over. If you're going to troll the board, at least come up with some original material.

What if Gerry DiNardo had never coached at LSU...we'd still be wearing purple jerseys for all home games.
