Once Michigan officially hires a coach not named Les Miles, all the assistants will sign their extensions. Chavis included.

Most of your brethren have accepted the reality of the situation. If he was leaving, he would have done it already. Delaying signing the extension doesn't hurt recruiting at LSU in any significant way.
However, if Chavis really were leaving to go to a place that has already lost its two best defensive recruits, he would already be gone, moved in, and busy preparing a post-dead period gameplan to salvage your defensive class. There are already MANY more reasons for him to stay at LSU rather than go. The fact that he isn't already gone and the growing disadvantage it would put him at is just one more. But it's a very telling one.

You're talking logic to an Aggie football fan. You see that don't you?

talk about seeing what you want to see...maybe he stays, maybe he goes, but he won't be coaching somewhere next year that hasn't given him 3 years guaranteed of 1.6-2m per year. Does lsu have the resources to make that happen? Aggy does

we lost ONE potential commit...d Mack is no more or less likely to come than he ever was. So if losing one guy = our defensive recruiting class falling apart then...well, ok

Why isnt the deal done then? should be pretty easy

I agree that there are a range of outcomes based on the (assumed) fact that it's not a done deal yet. However, none of those outcomes will have anything to do with a shortcoming of resources or a recognition of how to allocate them.
To suggest A&M can buy Chavis away from LSU is pretty spectacularly ill informed.

He might as well be discussing the virtues of heterosexuality for all the good it will do.

To suggest Aggies football program is in another league than LSU's resources wise is delusional.
Forbes
It's no secret that LSU football is a hot property. According to Forbes Magazine's valuation, the Tigers come in at No. 5 in all of college football.
Forbes pegged the team's value at $103 million with revenue of $88 million and a profit of $50. The magazine gave LSU high marks for its contract which sends $7.2 million annually back to the school, not including the cost of scholarships.
Texas ($131 million) led the way once again, followed by LSU's Music City Bowl opponent Notre Dame (122M), Michigan (117M) and Alabama (107M) to round out the top 5.

Don't spend any time on this conversation with aggy. They simply cannot understand basic finance. BUT ALL THAT OIL MONEY!

Well if you think LSU has more money I don't know what to tell you...
