That's odd. I would allow even Netflix to increase their fees AND have ads if it meant they could add tons more content. But Youtube? I'm not paying, say, $5.99/mo. to watch 3 min long viral videos when a mildly annoying 30 second will pay for it.

Try watching Rachmaninov's Second Concerto or Ludwig's Fifth, only to have each movement start with a fricking commercial.

I'm actually surprised youtube hasn't fixed their site so it won't work if you use block extensions.

I have Adblock too, but that doesn't affect the popups that play within the actual videos themselves, or the 30 second commercial that plays prior to it.

I never see pop ups or the 30 second clips. You're doing something wrong.

Screw that. The day Netflix starts putting ads in is the day I cancel. The entire reason I have it instead of Hulu is b/c I don't want to hear them when I'm watching a show.

It's changed my life and is fricking online advertising right in the pussy!

I work in media and we had to sit through 20 hours of this bullshite extensive training over 12 weeks in online and digital products and ad sales. Not once did our HQ people mention the ad blockers, not a single ad rep from any of our markets mentioned it. I threw them all in a tailspin when I asked about tracking blockage of ads on our websites because they're selling on page views and impressions and not daring to mention the possibility of people never seeing the ad despite the site counting a pageview.

It's a big fear in the content provider community as well. Ads are the most common way to infect a PC with viruses too. I've not had any issues with malware and adware since using ABP either.

I can't believe people still haven't heard of adblock. Noscript helps too.
