Dude is fricking terrible. What is there to be concerned about? I doubt he'd have made the team had he not been a high pick.

He's terrible but so are Frederick, Dixon, etc. Play the dude and see what he's got against actual competition.

losing this game helps us 2 ways... helps our draft position, number 1... and 2, Tampa doesn't get the 1st pick and won't be able to get Mariota....

that kid is gonna be good, and i'd rather not have him in our division, if possible....

as far as "playing to win", they should have done that in the dome vs. Carolina....

It truly would be helpful to at least get a top 10 pick. I truly hope Tampa wins

Unfortunately I suspect this is true. Pile of crap of a team. So many holes and they need all the help they can get by drafting early, especially with Payton's horrible draft retention rate.

Remember we are road warriors, so in all liklihood we will win this game. Be sure to bet the house on this one since it's as good as over

Playing oodles of younger players or benching Brees or Goodwin or Evans or Graham would be admitting that there was a problem this season.

That will not happen.

Saints playing to win

Why would they not? Everyone on here is so ridiculous to think they wouldnt

true. they should play to win. there's no other reason to step out on the fields.

However....

There is no justifiable reason to be playing Drew, Graham, Colston, Lewis, Goodwin or Lofton. Why the hell would anyone want to risk injury to Drew for a fricking worthless game? Might as well play him 16 full quarters in the preseason with this mentality. Graham has been badly hurt (and should've been sitting the bench healing rather than playing), and Colston/Goodwin have their history of injuries (Goodwin this year). With these guys all vets, it's dumb to play them. Let's put in young guys (for instance SJB) to get them some reps and see what they may be able to do. Yes they must play to win, but we don't need to risk key players and vets in the process.

Correct.
You don't play to lose.
And you don't play your studs when there is zero reason to.
Play your young guys and back ups as much as possible.
Give them more starting time and maybe pick up a higher pick. Win win.

As long as I know they are trying to win, there's a better than 50% chance they will lose.

Now that the playoffs are off the table, and in fact, winning will frick up their draft position, they will pound Tampa this weekend.
