You obviously weren't around to experience Miami in the 80's. It was a whole different level of crazy. They were a true villain.

So, that article provided nothing other than her well-rehearsed statement and a statement by a victim coordinator who is slanted towards her side. Yet, the NY Times just prints these statements as fact.

I scoffed at that victim's advocate statement saying her actions were consistent with a victim of sexual assault. That is a phrase almost completely without meaning.

Shy, withdrawn, refusing to give details? Check
Hysterical, crying, emotional? Yup
Lashing out physically to those around her? Also, yup
Sexually promiscuous in the days/weeks after the alleged incident? That, too fits

Literally, almost any type of behavior manifested by an alleged victim can be used by an advocate/counselour to support a rape allegation.

Exactly. That article proves nothing.

Agree with the other posters. This FSU team/state of program has nothing on those 80s /90 s Miami teams. It's not even close.

Winston said his accuser provided consent not with words, but rather by “moaning.”

His answer was ridiculous and infuriating, and just shows how Florida State rolls these days.

Stopped reading. Writer is a total idiot.

Yeah. I kept reading thinking surely the writer has something more here. Alas, I can sum up the writer very easily.

Writer takes all rape allegations as fact and writer seems to want pretend no woman has ever given non verbal consent.

Look. Winston may have raped this girl. But I literally have no idea what the point of this article was. It appears the writer thinks "because the victim said so" should be enough to send you to jail"

The Duke lacrosse team says "hi"

You're comparing 2 decades of shenanigans by 100's and 100's of players to one incident by one player.

You still aren't even on the right board.

If your lawyering skills are comparable to your posting skills I feel pity for your clients...

Yes

No.

Winston is a multi-incident player. Standing up and yelling "frick her in the pussy" in the cafeteria - while not as serious as actual rape of course - definitely counts as an "incident".

Stopped here. This writer has an ax to grind against football in general. Any evidence or no evidence at all is needed to convict Winston for them.

I'm hardly a Winston fan. He is a total moron and an embarrassment to college football. But he didn't rape that girl. She just had a case of post sex guilt and wanted to cash in.
