Our a-hole elf is only doing the 5 days before Xmas next year.
The kids were whining bc he wasn't hiding hard enough so I crammed him into a Half empty circle E candle and put the top on.
I thought it would scare them bc he's all contorted and staring out of the glass for help but the kids loved it.

I called my seven year old grand daughter and she said he will be gone when she wakes up on Christmas Eve morning. He has to help Santa.

I don't know how to post a pic from my phone, but, my wife showed me the elf on a shelf book. It says "the night before Christmas my jobs at an end. The rest of the year with Santa I'll spend."

Our elf is a lazy arse. He's under pressure from all the other private school elves to crap jelly beans and make messes but mostly he just moves around on the mantle.
