if so, what do you see the housing market doing the next 3-5 years around the youngsville area. is the growth going to keep pace as it is now?

Not an agent, but in the business.

I would say it depends on oil prices. If they stay down, all bets are off the table.

I've heard that several real estate brokerages in Lafayette are actively up for sale right now with business brokers because of concerns about the bottom dropping out.

Youngsville is booming. Yes if the oil industry goes down that will hurt the real estate market but in the long run real estate will be very good.

Like the others said a lot will depend on the oil & gas industry. If prices continue to drop going into Q3 2015, you might see a fire sale by next Christmas.

My neighbor is part owner of a local agency that does mostly rentals. I will ask her opinion the next time I see her and reply again.

Just remember that you are buying what used to be cane field and it's still surrounded by cane field.

Youngsville is very nice, but there is a limit on price appreciation, because someone will just build further out and there is a lot of room to fall if oil goes down because those houses will be the least desirable location.

I'm not a real estate professional, but these are pretty objective statements.

I agree that youngsville/Broussard will be the first to fall
