I've had it a few times and only the figure in the room 2-3 times.

The feeling of being strapped to your bed immobilized and something looking over you is beyond terrifying

It is basically when your brain wakes up from a deep sleep, but the rest of your body does not. You are essentially paralyzed. For me, it can last up to about 10 seconds. I'll have my eyes open looking at my room, but I am unable to move. Sometimes it feels like someone else is in the room with me.

Ohhhh that has happened to me before. Freaked me out. Had just had a dream about someone breaking into the house, opening the door to come into my bedroom their gun aimed at me and then that happens.

Yep, I've had the figure in the room with me a bunch. Probably 30ish times. That is beyond creepy.

Can't really make out exactly what it is. It feels like a person.

Yeah, I've talked with people who say it happens to them after dreams where they are about to die.

I have a friend who kills himself in a lot of dreams by like jumping off of cliffs. He says it happens to him sometimes after those.

Mine don't ever happen as a result of a dream as far as I know.

So is the figure just considered your brain dreaming that figure up? Seems logical I guess ...

Maybe it has something to do with your body being in a panic.

It never happened to me until college. Like never in high school when I was more active and stuff. Maybe it has to do with your lifestyle, who knows.

I just find it to be weird that it happens to me as I fall asleep sometimes, not just when I'm waking up.

Another time I had a dream like that it was a blackish figure. No face or discerning features. But def had a human like body and moved. If I have one of those dreams tonight I'm gonna be pissed Those are the dreams you wake up from and then are scared to go back to sleep cause you don't want to be thrown back into that same dream.

Could be, yeah.

These are the pics from the wiki article on it. People used to think it was the work of the demon. If you search the word "demon" in the wiki article, it comes up like 17 times.

Interesting, to say the least.

Mine is just a very big dark figure standing on side the bed. I've opened my eyes and didn't realize I couldn't move until I saw it and flipped out trying to react.

Almost looks like a shadow of a person with the light behind behind it so I can't make out anything of the figure
