Rumor that Spurrier nixed Muschamp to USC because of his son?

Talked to SC grad who golfs with a guy who knows blah blah. Anyway, this person told me Tanner had signed off on the deal, Muschamp had met with Spurrier but OBC killed the process because it would have meant leapfrogging his son on staff somehow. Any Carolina fans hear something similar?

Tanner had a contract ready to go, and was willing to shell out the dough, but Spurrier said no

Fact is Spurrier could have offered Muschamp the job but didn't. I'm sure your friend is just speculating, but many fans feel Bubba being on the staff had something to do with Spurrier not even wanting to offer Muschamp the job.

Regardless, just about the entire fanbase is sick of Bubba's shite because he sucks as a recruiting coordinator, he sucks at play calling when Spurrier is too busy being a jackass to do it, and he sucks as a WR coach.

I really wanted UK to hire him as OC just to get him the frick out of Cola

Is this an abbreviation for South Carolina that I haven't heard of?

He does suck at as recruiting coordinator and play caller, but it is unfair to say he sucks as a WR coach, IMO. We have been fine at WR during his time and have had several all american and all conference, wide receivers. Alshon, Kenny McKinley, Sydney Rice, Pharao Cooper, Bruce Ellington etc.

Tons of busts though. Seems like his coaching ability is feast or famine

The AD was prepared to. Spurrier just decided he didn't want to

This is the reason The OBC sticks around, to make sure his son is taken care of.
IMHO.

Magnus was the QB of the Walton HS team that upset my team (McEachen) in the 2nd round of the 87 4AAAA playoffs. They jumped our butts before we knew we were in a game and led 28-7 at halftime. We tied with :40 seconds left in the game and then former UGA player Chuck Carswell went house on the KO. Tough loss but Mangus was a good player and you tell his dad somebody from long ago whose heart he helped break remembers his good HS play. Coincidentally, I ended up on the same staff as his former Walton coach HC, Steve Jones, several years later. One of the best men I have ever known and I am sure GAs dad remembers him. Merry Christmas.

Spurrier Jr is an interesting subject. Didn't pull a Lane Kiffin. Seems intent to stick with dad. And OBC doesn't seem to really talk about him much.
