What he has done at Memphis is phenomenal, Larry Porter left an absolute dumpster fire in his wake there.

I'm interested to see how Memphis does next year. I think they have like 15+ senior starters this year so they could easily slide back into 3-9 territory. IMO If he wins again next year, he gone.

If he wins next year with how much they are losing, he will almost certainly get a big time job offer. What he has done with Memphis with virtually no support from the fanbase or administration is nothing short of amazing.

If Les made the improbable jump to Michigan this year, I would've put him near the top of the replacement list. If he's still available in 5 or 6 years after Les retires, I say throw money at him.

I believe he signed an extension last week. Maybe I'm thinking out of my arse, but I do remember reading that it was in the works for him.

And if we've learned anything over the years this time of year it's those are air tight.

I checked their recruiting rank for 2015 and it's really bad (around 75). Does not bode well for the future.

On the other hand, did you see that 55-yard FG in OT? That thing was flushed.

Memphis has never recruited well. At least not by the standards that larger programs would go by. They are trapped in the dead center of the SEC's western half, with a small budget and poor high school talent pool. Getting up into the 50s is going to take continued success and a hell of a lot of work.

he really is going to land at one of the top schools after one more season at memphis I think. guy just took MEMPHIS to a bowl game and won

yes, the memphis team who hadn't previously won a conference championship in like 40 years.

Those are Ole Miss numbers.. Memphis was even longer.. I think it was almost 60 years since their last conference title.

These were my thoughts with Butch as well, I really couldn't think of any possibility out there I would've wanted over Fuente.

Unless we could've stolen either Freeze or Mullin from state/OM just bc it would've been hilarious with all the state/OM fans I'm around

He is an offensive coach and was helped by great defenses the past few seasons

The DC left for Missouri so lets see if he can find a DC to replace him
