Great article regarding offense and over valuation and under valuation regarding to pay and production.
LINK
Here are the interesting tid-bits;
I didn't realize that LSU was paying $3mil to our offensive staff and we got exactly what for that this year!!!!! That shite needs to change next year period end of story.
If our offense doesn't put up numbers next year than someone needs to get fired I don't really give a damn if he is MIles great friend. If he can't do something with the talent we have on our roster and what comes out of Louisiana every year, than Cam needs to go next year and if Miles doesn't want to do that then maybe it is time for him to go.

Cam Cameron, alone, makes more money than 71 entire offensive staffs. Frank Wilson, alone, makes more than 38 entire offensive staffs. The two, combined, alone, make more than 99 entire offensive staffs.

LSU, woof. As bad as you can imagine. The nation's highest paid staff and well below the trend line. Yes, they are 10 points above the national average, but they are paying an absurd amount of money for that type of production. If you wanted to guess who paid the most per S&P+ point this season, you're damn right it was LSU. $27,793 per point. That's more than double Ohio State, who fielded the nation's number one offense according to S&P+.

It's like 2013 never happened around here.

Who expected a good offense this year breaking in a new QB? I wouldn't be surprised if they kinda suck next year too. They take a long time to develop. By the junior year is when you should expect QBs to perform in the SEC. As long as we show a lot of improvement on offense then you can't really complain about next year. Once everyone matures we'll have a great offense again like we saw with Mett, Hill, Beckham, Landry.

Jennings will be a junior so we should be good to go...

At this point I truly believe our 2013 offensive numbers had more to do with Mett, Juice, OBJ and Hill and their special talents rather than Cameron coaching them up. Case in point look what he did this year!!!! From 1st to worst! When you are getting paid what they are getting paid that crap should not happen.
So no Cam doesn't get a pass for what he did in 2013 in my book, that had more to do with who was here already than he was this great offensive mind that coached these kids up to who they are today.

Hopefully but I have no confidence he'll be doing much. Jennings just isn't an SEC QB. Jennings is not Cam's guy either Harris is. It would take some untold maturity for Jennings to be good next year.
Remember Cam recruited Harris not Jennings. He has to work with what he has. LSU is always in a shite storm at QB and you can blame recruiting for it and Miles booting like 354534543 QBs off the roster before he gives them time to develop. Either it's that or just piss poor recruiting evaluations. Either way, we suck at finding QBs.
LSU will be relying on defense next year if everyone stays. I have no doubts Miles will start Jennings again if he's the better game manager who doesn't turn the ball over. I hate his philosophy but that's what he'll do. Can't gain experience riding the pine and Miles never seems to give a shite. He thinks a game manager who doesn't turn the ball over wins games but you can't win games if you don't try either. It's something he never seems to get and why we end up with games like Arkansas.
At some point you have to bite the bullet and let a young QB take his lumps to develop in the SEC. It's why we're always slow developing QBs because we don't play them enough when they're younger to see PT. Mett was a 4th year guy when he started for us and was completely lost because he didn't sniff the field the year before.

deuce985 - serious question here. Are you freaking retarded?
You only get 3 to 4 years out of these kids in the first place and if they are studs like OBJ, Juice and Hill you get THREE years out of them before they take their talents to the NFL. So you don't have a LONG time to develop them!!!!
My question to you is how can Ohio State develop not One or Two Heisman caliber QB's but THREE of them in the same amount of time we have and we can't develop ONE?????

They will be headed to the NFL and we will be back at square one.
This is all on coaching and we are not getting what we are paying for and if that doesn't change next year Cam has got to go.

That is the whole point, if all we are looking for is middle of the road game manager SEC type offense then why do we need to pay our offensive staff tops in the country. It does not make dollars and sense.
We don't need to pay them that kind of money if we are getting what we got this year!

You needed to see the official numbers to know that the offensive side of the ball, both coaches and players, underperformed?

Yes, this years offense was not pleasing to the eye, but last year's offense was great. So because Cam had one bad year you think we should fire him. So you are saying every year we under perform we should start firing coaches. Have you ever thought what that will do to stability and recruiting. Recruits like to see stability and many offensive recruits come to LSU because of Cam's proven track record as a coordinator in the NFL. I don't understand fans that decide we should clean house after one subpar year. If we had a sub-500 record but after this season I don't understand it.

I disagree. This is the same argument people use with Miles. When it's successful, he lucked into it. When it's not, it's his fault. Nett wasn't near the QB in 2012 as he was in 2013. I guess Cam had nothing to do with that.

I agree totally. I mean anytime that the fans expectations (demands?) aren't being met, heads should roll. After all of the emotion and energy we put into LSU football we deserve to be rewarded, we deserve to have our wildest dreams realized.
No other school should ever achieve better than LSU. EVER!! No other team can have any, ANY YOU HEAR ME! player be better than anybody at LSU. The egos of the fan base demand perfection and we damn well better get it.
No more excuses. Produce to our requirements or get the Hell OUT!

No I knew they underperformed, but I didn't realize how much they underperformed by. I never tried to add up the offensive staff's salary before or compare it to other schools. But when you see how much they underperformed by especially compared to by how much our staff was paid, that is pretty jaw dropping.
Put it this way, I ran a trading desk for Goldman for 20years if we had put up those numbers, even after the great numbers the year before, almost everyone on the desk would have been fired and the first one would have been me. That kind of over-paying would not float in the business world.

Absolutely not, but you did read didn't you? Cam Cameron and Frank Wilson combined, that does not include the other coaches on staff on the offensive side of the ball, are being paid more than the entire offensive coaching staffs at 99 other universities and exactly what the frick did we get for that money this year? We paid more per point than any other school in the entire country!!!!
I stated on this thread that I do believe Cam's first year had more to do with Mett, Hill, Juice and OBJ than his coaching because of what he did not do this year. That being said last year does wash out this years performance in my opinion so he gets a pass for this year. But if next year he can't SUBSTANTIALLY improve on this years numbers "and I mean being in the top 3 in the SEC" than yes I believe he should be fired. Our roster is littered with 4 and 5 star recruits on both sides of the ball we should not settle for mediocrity.

No it is after all the MONEY we are throwing at the coaches $3,035,000 million dollars per year. Has nothing to do with emotions it has everything do to with dollars and sense.
When you pay the MOST, don't you expect to get the BEST? You might not always get the best but you don't expect to get the WORST! And if you do you damn well expect change going forward.

I pretty much thought the same until Speedy committed to TAMU, that is a big disappointment also considering he let Willis get away too last year. Not to mention Collins. So in my opinion Wilson has done a good job but there is definitely room for improvement.
