Gov't's role should be well defined, and limited...When it starts getting bloated, you have the #@%! we have now, and that will lead to unrest...because there's a finger to point your problems too...

There is no such thing as ridiculing govt in North Korea. How's that working out for them?

link to where Deblasio chanted for the death of cops?

Never said he did directly, but the demands of "we" per OP about government differ from those currently protesting. DeBlasio gives audience and credibility to those calling for murder. Big difference

Perhaps if government overreach weren't so pervasive, we would have no beef with them

Link? There is zero evidence that he "supported" the tiny of minority of people who were engaged in this despicable behavior for the very short period of time that they were.

Is there a 'large of minority of people'? If English is your second language I apologize.

Politicians might get more respect from people if they were truly representing the people instead of the money and bribes from big corporations and lobby.

you could certainly qualify as a "conservative" then,, "as long as it doesn't cost me too much, all the govt in the world is just fine.."

Agreed. To stop "ridiculing government" is like asking most on this board to stop being sarcastic.

We spend a lot of time disparaging government officials like Obama and entire agencies. We like to point out how they are ruining our nation and destroying the future for our children.
Hell no. If there is anything the government deserves, it is more ridicule.

Yeah but we are setting this dangerous precedent to where if you ridicule a government agency then you are now somehow culpable if anyone murders them.

Government knows what's best for us, and we should be thankful that they ignore our idiotic complaints and rambling and still care enough to do what's best in spite of what we think is best

Sharpton "death to cops" protest last week

It's highly misleading to act as if he were directly responsible for that. A tiny minority of an overall law-abiding and peaceful protest broke off to say those despicable things. There is no credible indication that he supported those sentiments.
