Always seemed to me that Batman, this dark and gritty crime fighter, should have more of a Punisher attitude. the no-kill policy is done by almost every character it seems.

That's why the Punisher was my favorite hero from an early age. It's just more logical to kill these assholes. Of course, that means he basically has no rogues gallery, which make writing for him tough, but whatever. How many lives would have been saved if batman had just offed the Joker right off the bat?

I know this is off topic BUT....Can someone explain the plot of Batman Vs. Superman movie coming out? I've always been a fan of the batman movies but I have never read the comics. Is this something that happens in the comic series

In Batman's eyes, Superman is a massive threat to earth. He draws all kinds of villains and beings hellbent on destruction. Batman, knowing this and knowing the dangers of a powerful hero and the villains it creates, uses his sciencey computer to make a dossier on Supes. While both fighting for good, they distrust each other and Batman always has contingent plans.

I think it would be best to start with year one. It has a new batman taking his lumps
Also I love Long Halloween and Dark Victory
The dark knight returns, Knightfall, Hush.
Batman comics before the mid 80s were campy and then they went back to the darker roots

Well i read the comics as a kid, but as i got older i like graphic novels alot more for batman.
I'm more a marvel fan than a DC however. And i'd recommend Spiderman and xmen comics over anything.

It depends on what you want to look into.
If you want to pick up on the New 52 stories (which is the latest "reboot" in the DC universe continuity) then I'd go with Night of the Owls, Hush, Death of the Family, and Batman: Zero Hour (which kind of redoes his origin story for the New 52).
If you want to read the pre-52 stuff, then I'd go with some of the ones already mentioned above. Also if you like The Joker, then I would throw in The Killing Joke & The Man Who Laughs. Also The Long Halloween & Dark Victory are a good 1, 2 punch. If you want a Justice League story that is batman centric, then I'd go with Tower of Babel. Also A Death in the Family (not to be confused with Death of the Family), Under the Hood (which should be read after A Death in the Family), and Batman and Son had a huge impact on the character when it comes to how he deals with those close to him.

All good places to start. I would just pick up a well known arc and you should be good to go. you might miss who a few characters are, but a decent comic gives you backstory pretty thoroughly.
I really like the current snyder run.
