The story of how I joined TD is oft-printed in history books and frequently sung about around campfires, but for those who somehow never heard:
I was reading 225 Magazine when an article mentioned the Baton Rouge Rocks website (does that still exist?), which I'd never heard of. I surfed there awhile when somebody mentioned "this other site I go to". I clicked on the included link and the rest is frickIN' HISTORY.
I never intended to post on TD, but you can thank another poster -- unnamed, but one with karma -- who wrote something about Monty Python so completely bass-ackerds wrong that I simply had to register and correct him (I may be the only person whose first post was on the M/TV board). So now you know who you can thank for the daily opportunity to bask in my inimitable aura.

in 2011, searching google for Haynesville shale and TD popped up. Started checking all the boards and got to reading the OB about the hatred for trespassers. Been hooked ever since

I have a buddy who posts here and have heard about it in passing, but paid little to no mind. Went out of state for a football game and he told me to peep out the food and drink board here for recommendations during my stay. Lurked for a bit before signing up to get said recs. Was on the other boards mostly till I saw the clown show on the OT. Peoples patheticness makes me smile, so I stick around.
Buddy still won't tell me what his handle is here. BUT I've whittled it down to a few.

Was doing a job the other day at a customers house. He was laughing about a story he had read. I said I wonder if the tigerdroppings OT is laughing about that yet. Before thinking he said "yeah, I haven't checked yet." Nothing more was said.

Believe it or not, from Chicken. We were both on the Rice Owl message board a long time ago. I can't remember if it was for a regional at BR or a Super at Rice. If I remember correctly he was in the process of just getting it started and promoted it a little on their board. Took a while but I eventually joined.
Part of the reason it took a while to join is because his username on the Rice board was Chicken also. Wasn't particularly crazy about a LSU fan posting on an opponents board with a nickname like Chicken. Thought it was wimpy on his part and thought he should change his name to Charlie the Tuna or something more manly.
