If the victim fits the "profile" how can AA's protest against racial profiling?

This has been bugging me.

Obviously the goal of these national protest for Justice is to get white america to "acknowledge and understand" social injustices.

What I don't understand is how Brown, or Garner or Trayvon Martin become a National poster boy on these issues?

Brown, Garner, and Martin fit the unsaid profile.

How in the heck did we get here? Does it matter? I reckon we are talking about the issues albeit from an upside down view.
