Thieves struck by lightning minutes after robbing church

Video captured from another driver shows the car speeding down the road last Tuesday, leading police on a high speed chase after robbing a church in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The pursuit was cut short however, when a bolt of lightning destroyed the car and killed all the passengers inside. According to police reports another car was also damaged after hitting the ruined getaway vehicle.

I don't think head on collisions result in smoking tires flying different directions... that looks like lightening with the flash of light. The story around the video could be fake, but that is a lightening strike on a car in rain

Check the slow motion video. Looks like a head on collision. Not saying lighting didn't strike near there as there is smoke coming from the ground further up the road.
