I'm not sure why we would facilitate that trade to get Turiaf's bloated corpse.
He's an expiring but he's done for the year and he's guaranteed as far as I know.
Unless we are getting multiple 2nd rounders and Dell just hopes to use his contract to flip as an expiring at the deadline.

He's a 1.6 million expiring.
Maybe get both 2nd round picks in the deal, buyout Turiaf? Try to use those picks later on closer to the deadline? I don't know.

We make the playoffs and we get to keep our pick. Houston isn't going to do anything that helps us get better this year.

Right, so since Turiaf isn't playing the rest of the year, and even if he was playing, it'd still be a good trade.
Bet we get cash and a highly protected 2nd.

There are 2nds and pretend 2nds. Either they give us something of value or we have no reason to eat Turiaf's salary for them. Giving us something of value lets us make moves to add some more depth. Maybe we need a Jeff Green to put us over the top, or maybe all we need is a Jameer Nelson. 2nds might help us get Nelson.
