What are y'all thoughts on the 3DSXL vs the PS Vita?

What do you want to play? Do you have a ps4? I have both and they offer different things.

I do owe a ps4. I'm leaning towards the 3ds, due to the fact of the old nintendo games. What are your thoughts on the 3ds?

3ds is a fantastic handheld. I've played it more so than any console since I got, but if you're looking to play NES/SNES games, you'd honestly be better off playing them on an emulator, the games are ridiculously expensive in the Nintendo store.

He asks this question because the Vita allows you to play your PS4 games through remote play (connecting to your PS4 over the internet and streaming the games from there). There's also some games you'll get on both platforms for one purchase.
What you want to play is far more important. If you really just want the classic Nintendo games (Mario Kart, Pokemon, Mario, etc.) then get a 3DS. While there are some comparable games on Vita, it will never have those games.
Vita does have some FPS, Racing games, RPGs, indie titles, sports games, etc that play really well. (it has minecraft if you're into that). There's also a Vita version of many PS4/PS3 games. This leads to a lot of interesting games that you can play on a handheld if you wish.
Something to also keep in mind is digital content. You can play a lot of older titles games on 3DS, where the Vita has access to hundreds of PSP and PS1 games.

Thanks for your input. I'm leaning towards the 3ds.

I have both and enjoy both. Vita has bit more of the games I enjoy, so I prefer it. 3DS is more popular for a reason though.

He said what I was going to say basically.

Have both. Prefer the 3DS exponentially to the Vita.
