The whole world is going to be watching.

Couldn't be a bigger stage than this. Let's hope Gerrard doesn't choke it away again.

It's 70 million pounds on the line and its on a Sunday. It's better than El Clasico because it isn't played 15 times a season the way it is now in Spain. What soccer fan is not going to be watching? frickin' obviously not talking about your average person.

Yea the ratings will be huge and it will directly correlate to who is in and out of UCL. The title is pretty much sown up.

WTF is your problem? Why are you trolling my shite?

Dude, nobody´s saying it´s not a big deal. It most definitely is. However, please note that El Clásico is MUCH bigger than the Super Bowl. Ponder that for a moment.

Sorry I don't love to hump the most top heavy league in the world.

I don't like watching the same match in 15 different competitions year in and year out.

I was referring to the implications for each club.

El Clasico is like flipping a coin for the title, the copa or the supercopa.

I've enjoyed the Madrid Derby more in the last 2 seasons.

Back to your original post for a second:
quote:

It's 70 million pounds on the line and its on a Sunday.

If Liverpool win, they will only lead United by one with eight matches left. Eight. Lot can change in that amount of time. Man City and Arsenal wouldn't be that far ahead, either.

Next:
quote:

Sorry I don't love to hump the most top heavy league in the world.

I don't like watching the same match in 15 different competitions year in and year out.

Not even going to touch the power vs. parity argument.

But keep in mind that El Clasico...whenever it comes on (maximum possibility of 7 times--not 15--per season, I think, with 2 league, 2 Copa, 2 UCL and 1 Supercopa), it's up there with the UCL final as the biggest TV event for world sports.

Liverpool and United with a month and some change left in this season? It's a great rivalry, it's a big match and I love one of the teams, but the whole world will most definitely not be watching, and it doesn't hold a candle to what El Clasico gets.

Just going by what LvG said. United is the biggest club in the world.

That doesn't mean anything here.

I'd tell you to try again, but you're probably running out of quarters at this point.

Ya Ya its the daily fail but I couldn't find anything else with a decent date. Decent breakdown of some other "meaningful" stats like shirt sales, player prices, twitter followers etc.
