Agreed....thought he was but he wasn't. Still doesn't mean he could not have gotten a few more snaps here and there. Big difference between "ready" to start and ready to mop up/spell AJ in a series now/then.

I am a Shreveport resident who goes to every game. How do you know what I think?

Keep in mind, most coonazzes in S LA don't even consider Shreveport part of the state. We're E TX.

What does Mary Landrieu have to do with Brandon Harris??
Nothing, it's just a jab at Shreveport from someone in Bossier.

Not in preparation and that was the difference. Harris needed to make for his lack of experience with something and he thought his talent alone would do it...it didn't. Learning experience.

Ready or not he is better than AJ. Play the best player
This has Beckwith and Welter written all over it again. Beckwith couldn't get people lined up but he could play his position. And he was a sophomore. When they finally let him learn, he began to grow.
There were so many opportunities to get his feet wet (not start) near the end of the season, but they didn't even try to put a plan in place. That's pure negligence.

Show me proof that he in fact is not ready
Jennings was still beating Harris regularly to the facility after the season started. He was staying later than Harris was and was putting in extra work.
The fact that Harris didn't realize that you have to outwork those older than you from Sunday through Friday to play on Saturday is all the evidence you need.
Disagree with the philosophy it all you want, but Miles has shown he will play younger kids, but they have to prove it in preparation not JUST when the lights come on.
By the time #6 realized it, Jennings had taken control of this team and after the the Auburn game their identity was formed.
Wow! This guy knows his football.
This guy, not so much.

taken control my azz. And if we've seen his identity, I don't wanna see no more. He still looks completely lost at times.

Personally him being from Bossier is admittedly on my list of reasons for liking him, though low on that list.
I think that he is our best QB option. I think he is our only acceptable option. I think he is a good kid that makes our school look good on and off the field. I think he is fun to watch. I think he is an exciting player. Also, I think he represents my hometown well. Those are all logical and reasonable thoughts, IMO.

quote:I frickin hate this bullshite excuse. This is started every year about some player who isn't playing in order for people to "support Miles". So instead of questioning our coach, we throw a player under the bus with bullshite rumors. I remember Beckwith was an a-hole who didn't work hard enough either at one point. Turns out the coaches just whiffed
Maybe he is better but I heard on the radio I think 104.9 yesterday morning, that the reason he isn't playing us because he lost trust and respect from the coach and the team because of his actions and attitude off the field and in the locker room. Supposedly the players have just as much confidence in Jennings as the coaches.

it appears there is much we don't know about how "ready" BH is. that ignorance includes you too. it really is a matter of the coaches seeing the situation every day and we are almost completely in the dark. yes, we see the games but so do the coaches.
let's look at some FACTS that you and others seem to completely ignore.....
+ les miles and cam Cameron will lose their jobs if they play the worse players and bench the best players. not only will that lead to an unacceptable level of game losses but they will lose the team too.
+ accusing les miles of "injustice" is just not factual. the players have this man's back for a reason. it is fact that LSU football players love les miles
+ the coaches know more than you (and the rest of us). that is FACT
+ coach les miles plays the players he thinks give this team the best chance of winning.
the problem with FACTS is that some people only recognize their opinions and just don't want to even consider the FACTS. yes, AJ struggled and struggled mightily at times. to me, that just proves that BH just isn't ready because if he was I KNOW that the staff and fellow team members would want him out there.
so you have proof that BH is ready? do you have proof that he will give LSU the best chance of winning? do you have proof that les and cam are so callous that they play one player over another just because they like them? do you have proof that you are a better judge of talent and "readiness" than they are?
let's be honest. you are just a crybaby that shoots his mouth off without knowing what you're talking about. grow up.

In the New Mexico game this year Harris came in and led 6 TD drives after jennings turned it over 3 times in the first quarter.
Les Miles and Cam Cameron gave Harris the start on the road vs Auburn. This throws out the argument that he doesn't know the playbook. Would Les and Cam start a guy on the road who doesn't know the playbook? Why would they start a guy who gets out worked day in and day out by AJ?
Harris had an awful game but he was setup for failure. The play calling was terrible, we ran it 18 of the first 21 plays and when we looked up we were down 17-0.
So after his one start, Jennings gets the job back and gets a total of 11 starts on the year. Pretty bad sample size to come to the conclusion that Jennings is definitely the correct answer.
