U.S. officials believe the North Korean government was behind the computer hacking attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment, a massive security breach that embarrassed several executives and led to the cancellation of the planned Dec. 25 release of "The Interview."

this is insane... US intelligence says it's not credible at all and the studios caved in for a bunch of BS

Jeez, Is this another CIA hit piece?

While this might seem obvious, do you guys really think we shouldn't actually investigate to make sure before we take any action?

I like how they can attack a US company hosted on US soil and make serious enough terror threats to affect an entire industry, but we as a nation are too pussy shite to do anything at all about it in retaliation.
I hope this doesn't embolden other nations or terror organizations.

Well Sony is a Japanese company, but whatever. And how would you like to respond? Should we go to war over the movie's cancellation?
It should never have been pulled, but take a breath before you talk about "retaliation", tough guy.

that's a bit extreme, but if this is state-sponsored, this is an act of terrorism by north korea

Of course, but what options do we realistically have? We could sanction them further, but I'd rather save that inevitable political capital for the next time they test a weapon. We could hit their own computer networks, but we've always had trouble doing so because their technology is behind the times and most of their hacking/cyber terrorism is done from other countries. Our options for dealing with North Korea are usually pretty black and white.

In other news, water is wet

I know right... like every citizen of NK has a high speed internet connection and access to computers.
We got hacked by a country that barely has electricity.
