See, I see it as just the opposite. It's the typical sort of mid-range Brennan's run establishment. Nothing I've ever had has knocked my socks off or would be considered "great" by any estimation, and nothing has been really terrible either.

It's a really nice space that makes it worth it to sit through a meal there every now and then that you know going in is never really better than decent, but that you can be sure will be so.

This has been my experience.
I think this time of the year especially would be nice dining there as you can see the Christmas lights from City Park while you dine.
I do think they have a pretty nice bar area too.

Does this make sense to anyone else?

I would say it is better than decent and is also very consistent. I do agree that nothing will blow your mind but you will leave happy and that's good enough for me.

My last few visits there have been really, really good. It's become my wife's favorite restaurant.
