Yeah a higher price for them but a lower price than their competitors, and the dominoes fall

Also, since their little deal would require U.S. Support, they're not about to start colluding to control prices with any desert people lest they lose their cash cow

I think it's stupid, but it's not illegal to export products derived from crude oil

I think you're missing the pressure this puts on other exporters of oil

But you were talking about the crude itself, right?

I do think it is stupid as well.

I believe that if we lifted the ban, it would help stabilize the market and now allow these big swings.

Yeah, and an increase in supply, lowers costs...I'm sorry you're against free trade. There's nothing illegal or dangerous about exporting and the increase of supply marked at a lower costs forces competitors to respond. When you're talking about a cartel that colludes to frick over everyone, they can and will be forced to meet that lower price because it's all about insane Mark up for them versus inflated infrastructure/transportation costs

Competition does wonderful things.

I'm not against the P/L, I'm for it. I don't think there is any legitimate reason to block it. However, it's unnecessary to put false information out there about the benefits of the P/L. There are no lower costs...I'm not sure that there will be any increase in supply as the supply is already available...the producers just want to get it to a pricier market.

I'm sorry that you don't understand these things.

I'm not really differentiating because refined or not we're talking about the cost of the product or the only component of the product...

The same people who complain about the cartels are the same ones who enable them. Reliance on foreign oil, blah blah...the more free the global market becomes, the better.

thats how you kill these motherfrickers.

So how is not injecting a greater supply into the global market ("pricier markets") not an increase in supply.

It is illegal to export oil in the US.

It's Canadian oil so it can be exported. And condensate oil can now be exported.

It's already on the market. If you don't believe me, go do some googling.

It's tar sand, not shale oil.

"Another big priority is fixing the tax code. At the very least it needs to be simplified down to just 4 levels of income but the ideal (to me, at least) would be a flat tax"

This would do little to simplify the tax code. Deductions, exclusions, credits, what is and isn't taxable in the first place. That's where the real action is.

There are many things to take into consideration, one and all of American people and their land! And of course my big concern about becoming a big dog in oil is from other countries with oil,(war) sitting ducks for explosions.
One good avenue is our trains might roll with tip over guards, but they are expensive! x pipeline is more vulnerable to attack and this makes the country less safer! Tossing it around, pondering it, I like to stay warm and have hot water and drive my car! Very thank for the energy company! Just imagine all the pondering that went into making the constitution! Kicking it to tim buck two ,as we all should!

It makes economic sense to build Keystone when it lowers your transportation cost.

This is soooooo silly. Why not build it while shipping costs are down and it's not being rushed into service.

It will still be used

A rich liberal donated 100 million dollars to democrats under the auspices that the pipeline XL and other things the greenies are against would not be pushed through.

Can you say money buys influence ?

The dumb bastards blew a 100 million dollars to lose like champs.
