Just like with metal, I always like these lists to try to catch a few albums I slept on. I've already discovered PRhyme through the list, which is currently blowing me away. Not sure how I missed it. Anyway, feel free to debate and discuss:

Hah. I just realized that the two "new" albums I discovered weren't even on this list, but were on another year end hip hop list I looked at somewhere.

And yeah. RTJ2 isn't just the best rap album of the year, it seems to be the consensus pick for album of the year in the music blogosphere.

Im happy for those dudes. Ive been an el-p fanboy since the mid-late 90s, company flow was revolutionary when i first heard it.

Agreed. El really came to my attention on Mike' RAP Music, which was my favorite rap album the year it came out.

I've followed the pair of them ever since almost obsessively. They absolutely crack me up as a duo. They just seem like two of the coolest, down-to-earth guys on the planet.
