I watched the season 4 episode a few weeks ago and noticed this for the first time.

It gets better each time you watch it. Always finding new little jokes tip of the hat forshadowing whatever you want to call it

I still need to watch S4, but it came out on DVD recently, so hopefully I will catch it soon.

And this reminds of of things from Community like the Beetlejuice thing. Yet some people write that off as gimmicky instead of creative writing.

And even more interesting, those are regulars from Mr. Show, with Bob and David. David Cross that is, and Bob Odenkirk, who also appeared in the show. Every time they were in Arrested Development, I took notice.
