Scherzer is not going to just sign out of the blue with someone. Especially being a Boras client.

I hope they do sign him, since he turned down 144m already Cards would have to sign him north of 160m and at 7 years plus probably an option.

First thought signing the hometown guy just like Mark Buherle eh?
Second thought was watching MLB network earlier and they named the Cards as the 2nd most likely franchise to sign him after the Yankees due to lack of pitching depth due to injuries and trading Shelby Miller.
Third thought this would be so not Cardinals to make this signing. Can't see us making this signing and pursing a deal for Heyward unless we call it quits with other big contracts for older guys like Holiday, Perralta, etc.
Side note: whatsup with Jaime Garcia?
