and all 3 times they stare at the camera quixotically while they ruminate over the possible reasons why this word is so popular and even put the Merriam-webster definitions on screen.
are they really all this stupid or just toads?

You can also add "community" as well....
Oh man the media loves that....
The "community" is outraged....
He's bringing it back to the "community"..
We have to do it for the "community's" sake...
The "community" is coming together....
and so on....

How about the term "teen"?
When I hear it, I picture Shelley Fabares, Judy Jetson, and Richie Cunningham; as in "After the sock-hop, a group of teens helped an 80 year-old man across the street."
In reality it now means "After a rap concert, a group of teens pummeled an 80 year-old man with fists and rocks and took his wallet."

Not sure what the issue is here. They're probably just confused as to why Merriam-Webster chose "CULTURE" as their word of the year over other possibilities.

Every other word that judges on the FOOD Network say is "texture". It's so frickin annoying.
