“Hopefully we come in this week and get to the details and try to figure out what Atlanta’s gonna try to beat us with,” Lewis said. “We can’t let Matt Ryan come out and throw for 500 yards this week.”

Then says this because if they do that then it kills Atlanta's changes at the playoffs....

Lewis can say whatever he wants

This is a playoff game. No such thing as bulletin board material

If Julio can finish the game (which he may not since he is injury prone)

he will eat lewis alive unfortunately.

If anyone can shut down Julio it's Lewis.

He's been the second best man to man cover corner over the last 2 years

Put him on an island. If he gets his, he gets it.

Is there some kind of stat that you're looking at to reach this conclusion? There are quite a few M2M corners I would place over him.

Quite a few? List them

Well he was easily top 5 last year. He's been great this year when healthy.

He's been banged up the last month +, and the defense us pathetic when he's not in.

Off the top of my head, Revis, Haden, PP, Xavier Rhodes, Harris Jr., Cromartie. I would throw Sherman in there too, but I left him off because he doesn't follow receivers.

I'm not saying he's bad, but top 2 is a stretch IMO.

You're just naming names just to name them. Lewis has out played most of those guys.

Eta: Cromartie for example, he was roasted last year. He has played much better this year, but Lewis has been much better over the 2 year stretch.

PP7 isn't better than him. He just hasn't produced a lockdown year yet. There is no statistical argument to put PP7 over Lewis

Revis

Yes

Haden

Possible, but I disagree.

Xavier Rhodes

Minny plays a lot of zone coverage

quote:

Harris

He's been lights out this year. I can see an argument made. Also has a great pass rush

They run a lot of zone too

quote:

Cromartie

We're talking #1 corners here.

You not to name players who get beat way more than Lewis. I've seen Haden and PP get destroyed at times this season. Then you come out and name somebody like Chris Harris Jr. And not give Sherman credit when he has actually followed some receivers this year when needed.

In his defense, I said man2man corners. Seattle runs a cover 3 system.
