agrred. I would be more disappointed in BK if they didn't make the smart financial move to get out of the US. This shows me that they are willing to do what it takes to survive/thrive in this economy. Trust me, its not like they were going to get a gubment handout like GM when people stopped buying their food.

Would be great if they send a truckload of Canadians across the border to man BK counters. That would be a positive improvement.

If we could replace all fast food workers with friendly Canadians, I'd be willing to pay 25% more.

Some people's thought process is just out there in left field.

But they are going to pay less taxes being headquartered in another country, correct?
Yes, if they were headquartered in the United States they would have to pay 35% U.S. income tax on their income derived from foreign operations. Headquartering in Canada allows them to pay tax at a lower rate on income derived from operations outside the U.S. The estimated savings is $1.2 billion.

No no. . .it has to be lack of patriotism at fault here.

Never question the policies. They, like cost-benefit analysis of any entitlement program, are beyond objective discussion/review.

maybe it's the case of a Corporation saving money off the backs of Americans who pay taxes. Will this result in lower prices for their crap food? yeah right

LOL. A company in America would be hard pressed to find a Western nation that did NOT have a better corporate tax environment than we currently have and most of those nations are not exactly bastions of libertarian ism

Well of course you're right. Everyone knows that how much a company pays in taxes has no bearing on its cost and pricing structure. Anyone who can read a balance sheet knows that.............oh.......wait...........no.....only business morons think that. Congrats

Does this mean they're going to serve awesome coffee, or is it still going to be the crappy Burger King stuff.

I pay taxes. A lot of taxes. How much willy tax bill go down of BK is forced to stay HQ'ed in the US? Specifically, what tax would be repealed or reduced? And how much?
