The wife is going back to school and I've been out of the game for a while. Where, other than Amazon, can she find the best prices for her books?

In my experience, used books from a campus bookstore are only slightly cheaper than the new ones.

Of course they do, but one search on Amazon for the ISBNs turned up about a 40% price cut. I assumed if Amazon was that cheap then there was probably another option we could look at.

You can look at the international versions.
Same exact same thing, just much cheaper and can't be sold to universities at end of the semester.

I saved over $300 because I at least found 2 of my books in torrents.

I used to get money from my dad for books and just borrow friends.

Spent the money on drinks.

I feel bad about it now. Kind of.

The only book I had to buy this semester (for $65), I was able to sell for $15. So that went to cheapest, largest amount of liquor I could buy.

When I went to LSU to get it, I could have bought it for $65 or rented it for $58

Don't judge me, I have been blowing my brains out all semester from econ 2035.
Now I don't have to use my brain again until January 14th.......or whenever midterms next semester are I guess.

Half.com and there's really no other need to look anywhere else. You can get them really cheap, and the local bookstores will buy them back for close to, if not more than the amount you paid for it. I made money off three or four textbooks this way.
