The Koch brothers are well known to be libertarians. But I'm not going to comment on some blogs I've never heard of posted by someone like you.

Ok, I think I understand now. You're dimmer than I thought. I said the kochs themselves if they ran for office as republicans prob couldn't win their parties nomination due to there particular stances on the aforementioned issues. I never said the kochs weren't pragmatists that didn't support candidates that they disagreed with on those issues. How you got from a to b is beyond me.

ETA: you're right in one regard, Walters would vote for neither as she isn't conservative or libertarian.

You didn't answer my question. Maybe you can't read so well ..

WHICH ONE IS ON THE LEFT?

I shall now hold my breath while you try to spin your way out of that.

Barbara used the word 'conservative.' 'That's why you are disliked'. It's in the OP. But you claim that the GOP wouldn't like Koch because he is libertarian...even though I distrust your links.
Both are on the RIGHT. Cassidy and Koch would run on the same ticket easily. That is why you people hate both of them. The GOP establishment doesn't like Cassidy nor Koch. They are in the Jeb Bush mode.

So, you really think Cassidy is an establishment guy? Vitter ran and won on one simple issue "I hate Obama'.

I took Cassidy's campaign as the same thing.

Why should I? It makes no sense and drags the argument into some nonsensical realm. It's strawmanish.

I said very plainly, very clearly that the Kochs, if they ran for public office themselves, would have a hard time getting the nomination within the Republican Party, due to there stances on the aforementioned issues. Those stances are not in doubt.

Both are on the RIGHT.

Koch is a libertarian, he's not right in the sense "right" is understood within the GOP...maybe some day, but not today, especially in the dirty south.

Cassidy and Koch would run on the same ticket easily.

They would clash on social issues and immigration.

That is why you people hate both of them.

Who are you calling "you people"...just because you're a fake libertarian doesn't mean you get to put others into categories you don't understand.

Uh, Cassidy...OK pawpaw.

Wrong. They would never get the nomination for a high level office...like Senator or President because of name recognition and lack of previous office...like gov. They would have ZERO problems running for HOR in their district.

He is EXTREMELY right. If they are not extremely RIGHT why are they the most hated people by the the left? Hmmmm?

Barbara Walters and the kochs have more in common with Barbara Walters and their similar social circles than the kochs do with the majority of the people on this board.

When people realize the kochs are interested in maintaining power for the wealthy and not some free for all libertarian state, they will rest easier.

Am I dealing with a simpleton of this magnitude? Why, yes, yes I am.

Many reasons, but the two primary ones are that they fund Republicans and climate change (their business and stance on regs related to same). That's easy. And the first is more of a function of their pragmatism regarding fiscal issues and business. They're also often misrepresented by the left to create a bogeyman - they are the enemy of the Dems so that they would be vilified by the left isn't shocking at all.

That being said, they do hold positions that are in my view not left/right but libertarian. However, in the way people view everything through the left/right prism, some people would consider the Kochs' stances on abortion, gay marriage and immigration "liberal". It fits the simplistic definition of libertarianism as fiscally conservative and socially liberal (which David Koch used in the Walters interview).

Considering your assertion and their stances do I need more?

I would have said, "why don't you like me Barbara?" then went on to explain he doesn't know who these people who don't like him are.

So I think he took the bait a little, but he did spit it out.
