You guys do not deserve Les. He is 103 -28 in ten seasons in the hardest conference in football. That is 10.3 wins per seasons. He is 56-24 against said conference during that span. Please explain to me how 10.3 wins per season equates to winning 8+ games every year and keeping his job. Do you clowns know how many coaches average 10 wins per year?? Not very many.

Les really padded that 10 year record in the first 3 years he was head coach at LSU. A monkey could have won 10+ games with the talent on LSU's roster the first 2 years. The farther away from Jimbo Fisher we got, the more our offense became unwatchable.

2010 was fine, and 2011 was awesome, but every other year has you sitting around after the season thinking, how did we lose that many games with this group????

They don't seem to care Chicken. I always laugh when people clamor about Les' 10 win seasons yet ignore the fact that he has had 12 games every years except 1 and that most coaches in the past had 11 or less pre-bowl. They also ignore the fact that there weren't 100 bowl games and that even good teams didn't go to bowls back then for the extra win opportunity.

Les is a good coach, but people overblow his success. I love the disclaimer of greatest "regular season" as if the end result isn't important. If Les didn't want to ruin that season, he could've tried not embarrassing himself, the team and the school on 1/9/12.

Yay! 3 loss seasons every year filled with moral victories while Alabama still makes the playoff in their "down" years

Maybe the record was, but LSU lucked into a bunch of wins that season despite horrid offensive play and coaching. That season was ridiculous when you think LSU could've easily been 6-6 or worse that year. They had lucky/gimmicky wins against Tennessee, UF, UNC (dropped game winning TD), Bama, etc.

That team had a ton of talent, but the record wasn't evident of the quality of play that team put on the field nor the coaching.

LSU ran off Coach Mac because he could not beat the Bear. Yet, he won 70% of his games during his coaching tenure at LSU. Now, ranters want to run off CLM because he cann't beat Saban. He's now winning at a 79% clip. Clue: no one was/is beating either of those coaches on a consistent basis. LSU was left to wander through the wilderness after running off its winnest coach in history at the time & look at how long it took to get back to our glory yrs. Now, history would repeat itself if ranters had their say. As to the idiotic refrain that anyone could win at LSU with our talent: look at the number of coaches we fired who could not & the league, let alone the division, was no where near as strong as it is now. God himself lost to both UAB & ULM at Alabama & lost 3 games a yr every yr but one while coaching at LSU. A very average Iowa St. a piss poor Eli lead O.Miss, the hawgs, etc etc.

Could have used another voice of reason in my thread on the rant.

It turned into people asking if I could be the coach and do better and people talking about Sabans loss to UAB twelve years ago.

What is a consistent basis? Is (if we win next year) 1 out of 5 good enough ?

so you take credit for his accomplishments but you take it for the "school" because Les had nothing to do with taking you from a (outside of saban) 7 win program and turning you in to a 10 win program.

Our success on the football field over the past decade is like heroin - from what I understand - once you've tried it, you've got to have more.

It's very frustrating when, on the surface, it seems stubbornness and unseen logic determine game outcomes and the overall direction of the program.

I agree with all, except Bama. We deserved that win.

I was just thinking that at the end of the day, I can't argue with 11-2 and a blow out win vs A&M in the Cotton Bowl.

Miles' winning percentage is elite.

You can make a case against Miles, but not using his winning pct.

Can you list other coaches' records against Saban?

So you agree Miles has taken you to a different level of prestige.. cause Sabans 5 years surely didn't change your entire program prestige level.

No. The minute football became about money, it became more competitive. LSU has always been a sleeping giant. When money started being spent, LSU became an elite program.

That's why LSU will be fine when Miles leaves...and why LSU is fine with Miles here. You can't say the same for Michigan. Michigan needs a difference maker at HC.

That's a terrible argument against Miles. Saban's only going to go down as one of the top 2 head coaches ever.

After winning two NC's this century and having arguably the best regular season record in college football history (13-0 in 2011 if you're wondering), and the talent we produce in Lousiana, 10 wins a year ain't good enough.

Considering Les was the coach of one of those national title teams and also that 2011 squad, this might be one of the dumbest things anyone has ever posted trying to discredit Les. You actually used his 2 greatest accomplishments. Mind boggling.

Why?

All that matters is Miles/Saban, bro.

We should be winning all these national championships like they are.
